The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

In September 1941 I entered Penn State. I interrupted my college career in December 1942 when I enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps. I received training as a Flight Radio Operator. In August 1944 I was assigned to the U.S. Army Air Corps Transport Command and sent to the North Africa, Southern Europe, and Near East areas. In December 1945 I returned to the United States, and in May 1946 I received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army Air Corps, and returned to Penn State and graduated in 1948. I met my wife, Margie, in 1951 and I have been happily married for 57 years. I feel that I have been along for the ride and a pretty good ride it has been. Marge and I have two daughters and two sons, and now have four grandchildren. We have retired to Manchester, New Jersey, and enjoy living near the beach and walking the boardwalk.
